Wacky Wednesday

On Wacky Wednesday I was wearing pink fake hair extensions, a white skeleton jacket, shorts and tights with my black and white Nikes.

When my dad dropped me off I was excited because it was wacky day and I wanted to see what my friends looked like. Suddenly when the bell rang I RUSHED back to class and sat on the mat. When we went in the classroom miss Milson was our teacher because Miss B was at a meeting in the staff room.

We started our day with jump jam then we  did some maths sheets and maths games. At 10.15 we did a school parade and I was so nervous because we had to walk around in circles showing the whole school our wacky clothes and hair. After the freaky parade we got to have morning tea earlier.

Sadly, morning tea finished and it was time to go back to class. We did some reading and handwriting. Finally when lunch came I sat down with all of my friends and ate my lunch. When the afternoon came around we got to watch movies in room 17 and 18. School finished at 3pm, I said goodbye to Humphrey and went home.

Wacky Wednesday!

Recently we celebrated our GPK day by having a Wacky Wednesday. Everyone dressed up in fun and slightly wacky costumes. Here are some recounts and photos of the event.

Wacky Wednesday by Brianna Room 17
Today was Wacky Wednesday. I wore a white cardigan. I liked it! I wore a party dress because my mum made it for me. I arrived at school. It was exciting seeing all the teachers and children dressed up in funny costumes. My favoutire part of the day was the parade. The "Fireflies" went first in the parade. My partner was Dayna. We walked around in a circle. I saw my brother Zachary watching me.
Then all the other communities paraded their wacky costumes too. I saw my friends Brydie and Chloe. Brydie was dressed up like a ballet dancer and Chloe was looking funny too. It was very exciting.

Our resident Author

In the Fireflies community we are really lucky to have our own author who we can talk to and share our writing with. Peter Millett, (Mrs Millett's husband) has had approximately 40 books published, (he's really lost count). Recently he visited Room 19 and 20 to read his latest super cool story. He then listened and gave feedback to the learners. He is looking foward to visiting Room 17 and 18 soon so he can read his stories to the Year 2-4 children and listen to their stories too. Check out his website

Swimming Sports 2012!

Recently the Year 5 and 6 children participated in a fun day at Coatesville School for our annual swimming sports. Here are a few snapshots from the day and a recount of the day written by Paris in Room 20.

"Crack!" the clappers roared with fury threatening us the 10 year old racing girls. I plunged into the freezing water determined to win. I felt sorry for the terrified gir/s waiting to race behind us...
SPLASH, SPLASH, SPLASH went our tired arms spreading out as far as we could, eager to get in front of each other.
"Almost there, almost there...done." "Yes, Victory!" I thought as I quickly threw my hand at the wall. I checked my time, wow. I did an amazing time of 25.7 seconds. I had finished, now I could go back to my nice warm towel to rest!!
